Dr. Paul D. Mehlhop

Dr. Mehlhop received his medical degree (M.D.) from Columbia College of Physicians and Surgeons in 1991. He then stayed at Columbia to complete a residency in Pediatrics at Presbyterian Hospital in 1994. After that, he moved to Boston to do a fellowship in Allergy and Immunology at Harvard Medical School, training at Children’s Hospital (Pediatric Allergy & Immunology) and Brigham and Women’s Hospital (Adult Allergy & Immunology). He was first to board certified by the American Board of Pediatrics, then by the American Board of Allergy and Immunology.

Dr. Caitlin Daniels, DNP, FNP-BC

Dr. Caitlin Daniels is a board-certified Family Nurse Practitioner who has been caring for patients at The Allergy Center since September 2022. She earned both her Bachelor of Science in Nursing and her Doctor of Nursing Practice from East Carolina University, graduating with her DNP, FNP degree in May 2020. She provides comprehensive allergy and immunology care to both children and adults.

Prior to becoming a nurse practitioner, Dr. Daniels worked for eight years as a registered nurse at ECU Health Medical Center on the Medical Intermediate Unit and Pediatric Unit. After graduation, she practiced at Greenville Pediatric Services and the James D. Bernstein Community Health Center before joining The Allergy Center.

Her clinical approach focuses on patient education and intentionally listening to each patient’s concerns in order to create thoughtful, individualized treatment plans.

Outside of work, she enjoys spending time with her husband and their three young daughters, playing sports together and attending church.
